Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Welcome to Troop 1496’s Website!

Welcome to Troop 1496. We formed in the 1930’s at the BI Fire Department and have a strong outdoor, boy-led program. Join us most Monday nights during the school year at 7 p.m. at the Bainbridge Island Masonic Center and check us out. We are across the street from Bainbridge High School on High School Road. Our Scouts are organized into seven patrols composed of similar-aged Scouts. Our outdoor program features monthly outings that include hiking, bicycling, backpacking, snowshoeing, and canoeing as well as resident summer camp and high-adventure programs. See the Troop Calendar Menu for our Annual Program Plan built by the Patrol Leaders Council. The most successful Scouts have parents who support their boy’s Scouting activities. We welcome all parents who can help – from simple one-off jobs to Assistant Scoutmaster positions – your volunteer efforts make the program a positive and successful experience for all Troop members. Our fundraisers are coffee sales in the fall and E-waste recycling in the spring. To find more about E-waste recycling, or to sign-up for E-waste pick-up, click the E-waste tab above.
